Quantum Supercomputer Making Real Progress

IBM has been working on a computer that will outperform all current supercomputers. Quantum computers aren’t held back by the current, on/off transistors used in the logic that runs computers today. IBM will use “superconducting qubits” which allow the computer to perform millions of computations at one time. These qubits can be in both the on and off position at the same time (hence the idea behind “quantum” where observation effects the result). IBM said they are taking it one step at a time, but it appears that there is at least a valid path at this point, since there was previously speculation as to whether it was even possible. If/when this breakthrough happens, it will kept the trajectory of Moore’s Law on the same slope, perhaps even steeper, taking us further into a transhumanism evolution. Or maybe we’ll just have fancier cell phones.
