Metadata and How to Program You

Metadata- patterns that predict many personal preferences about a person. It tells the company who you associate with, when, where, and how long you communicate. The average person gives over about 736 pieces of this information to Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint daily. A third party buys this information from them who studies them to assign you a demographic and provide you with advertisements and a tailored search result. Ever notice how you’ll get ads while online that seems to be in topics you’re interested now? It used to not be like that. These companies have over four years of this metadata and are now using it to create a personalized internet to sell you products.  No longer will a google search provide you with an objective result, it will be tailored to be what these third parties want it to be for you, specifically, which is ultimately a manipulation.
