I was fortunate enough to be in Utah’s Salt Lake City last weekend and saw the opportunity to attend ParaCon. As a small number of you might know, when I started this website/blog a few years ago I originally provided content on some ghost hunting stuff. The realm of conspiracy easily blends into that of the paranormal, so I was pleasantly surprised to meet such good people at this thing. Here’s a taste of what’s out there in the local SLC-scene of the paranormal…

Conjuring the Spirits
Here is a team of two talented artists from Utah (I’m assuming they’re from Utah, but either way they’re in Utah now). It’s a musician named The Rose Phantom and an artist name Purgatory Pete. They teamed up to create a ghost hunting team that explores what happens when you combine music and technology.
Here’s an interview with a local TV station where they detail some of the happenings with their pilot. If you watch until about 13:00 you’ll see something truly bizarre and unexplained happen…
Here I’ve got links for the Conjuring the Spirits Youtube channel, the musician Rose Phantom’s website and his Facebook page. His music sounds a bit like a mix of electro-David Bowie and New Wave Depeche Mode.
You can pick up his album Abandon on Amazon as well:
And here’s a sample from the album with his video, Into the Day:
The other side of the camera work is done by artist Purgatory Pete and you can check his stuff out at Purgatory Pete’s website (which has some pretty daring material; might not be safe for work…):
Another booth I checked out was from the comedian Marcus, who was in the finals for Last Comic Standing 6 in 2008 (he made it to the final battle; dude’s just as hilarious in person as he is on stage). He started up a team for an honest attempt at ghost exploration in a show called Ghost Hopping.
You won’t believe what you hear on the episode where they researched the Trolley Square building in SLC. This building was infamous for the mass shootings that happened in 2007 where six people died (including the shooter).
Check out 40:45 if you don’t think these spirits have some kind of intelligence, and also notice during the episode that the orbs they find whilst walking around are all in front of the Pottery Barn store (the location where the police shot and killed the mass shooter):
To piggyback on that Trolley Square shooting incident, the cop that shot and killed the shooter, and undoubtedly saved many other lives, was accused of having oral sex with a minor just a year later. He pled ‘no contest’ and was sentenced to 90 days in jail, according to Deseret News. Also, the shooter was from Bosnia originally, which is strange in that the Boston marathon bombers were from Chechnya; another Caucus region. David Icke talks about how the first white people were really aliens (like the Nordics) who came down from the Caucus mountain range (hence the name “Caucasian”). So that that for what it’s worth.
Here are a few other people I’ve met that offer all kinds of variousness. In no particular order:
An artist named Jeff Carlisle of Bathory Girls who makes custom fangs and custom vampire artwork/photography:
A bootique called Spoox in SLC that has all kinds of dark wares – e.g. skulls, jewelry, and some awesome people 🙂
And finally, Lance Campbell who offers Star Tours. Lance says that he can summon UFOs and even has guardian angel UFOs that accompany him. He offers tours that you can go out and see for yourself. Pretty wild stuff.
