The Passing of Chris Cornell: Esoteric and Illuminati Symbolism

I don’t typically like to make conjectures on celebrities that pass away unexpectedly unless I find good reason to do so. After all, these are real people that have real friends and families so they deserve to have at least a certain level of respect upon their passing.

However, I received a significant number of requests to look into the passing of Chris Cornell so here’s the way I view it.

The articles I have written on celebrity deaths typically go into the various ideas and themes of their craft or artwork to explore the theory that their deaths were somehow “Illuminati” related.

In this particular analysis I believe we can look at the work of Chris Cornell and see that he did indeed have certain esoteric themes and messages in his music that suggest he was aware of a “higher truth” worth investigating…

R.I.P. Chris Cornell

Although I’m not a particularly invested fan of Chris Cornell’s, I have enjoyed several of his songs. I grew up in the 80s and 90s so I can readily remember summers of watching his videos on MTV (back when they played music and you couldn’t find videos anywhere else). Black Hole Sun and Fell on Black Days were two powerful songs that come to mind when I think of Chris Cornell, however I’m certain if I were to listen to his entire catalog I’d find more great tunes.

Exploring his catalog of music (with bands like Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave, etc.) there are a few stand out songs worth mentioning when you consider the study and aim of the IlluminatiWatcher.com community.

For instance, one of the earlier Soundgarden songs was Jesus Christ Pose– which had a video that was banned by MTV. Interestingly enough you can watch it on YouTube and see that it’s a far cry from what we call “controversial” in the modern age.

Jesus Christ Pose video

The song is about people using the symbolism of Jesus Christ to put themselves on a higher footing of morality than others.  The Standard interviewed Cornell about his religious beliefs in which he stated that he didn’t subscribe to any particular organized form of religion:

…so many bad things–as well as good things–have happened based on people just sort of blindly following religion, that I kind of feel like I want to stay away from any type of specific denomination or any religion period, for no other reason than just that. I don’t want to be involved with anything or condone any school of thought that, at some point or in some way, causes the death of innocent people…

I don’t see any reason to believe that this man who was brought up learning Catholicism (as well as Judaism) is some kind of Devil worshipper merely because he didn’t subscribe to organized religion. He said he was a “free thinker” and I suppose that’s a fair response for any of us trying to figure what precisely this experience is all about.

The breakthrough video for Soundgarden and Cornell was Black Hole Sun. The lyrics suggest that this world is much darker than we acknowledge it:

Black hole sun
Won’t you come
And wash away the rain

…Times are gone for honest men
And sometimes far too long for snakes
In my shoes, a walking sleep
And my youth I pray to keep
Heaven sent hell away
No one sings like you anymore

While those lyrics (and the video) are nihilistic in nature, I can’t help but see the mentions of “honest men disappearing” while the “snakes” are staying around far too long. He seems to be pointing to a society of sheep that aren’t performing independent thought, meanwhile the wolves are walking amongst us, so the black hole sun might as well come and take us all away.

This is indeed nihilism but it is also quite telling of a view that the masses need to wake up to the conspiracy and agenda that surrounds us.

Black Hole Sun: Nihilism

Another idea for the Black Hole Sun is that of the “Black Sun.” In my post Decoding Illuminati Symbolism: Triangles, Pyramids and the Sun I explore a concept of the Black Sun and The Great Work. “The Great Work” is the journey to be god-like and make something out of nothing. It is initiated with the first step being the alchemical Black Sun. The Black Sun is the first stage in the achievement of enlightenment or immortality, which is accomplished through the philosopher’s stone.

The philosopher’s stone is known for making lead into gold, and the planetary association of Saturn to metal is lead. The planetary association with the Sun is gold, so turning Saturn into the Sun is the alchemical process of the philosopher’s stone, based on metal transformation.

How curious is it that we see the symbols and artwork of alchemy in the lyric video for Chris Cornell’s final song- Nearly Forgot My Open Heart?…

The final album of Chris Cornell’s was called Higher Truth, and on it we see the esoteric symbols of the triangle/pyramid, with the ascent into the apex of the All Seeing Eye (*big ups to T.J. for making me aware of this).

Cornell’s final album: the ascent up through the apex of the pyramid

The last single from Cornell was a song called Nearly Forgot My Open Heart which had lyrics that we should take a quick look at, but let’s also consider the visuals from the lyric video that demonstrate certain alchemical principles. For instance, we see a recurring theme for the symbol of Mercury, which in alchemy can mean many things, but one of these things is the pursuit of the Great Work- the philosopher’s stone that is the true will of the initiate.

Staring into the sun- symbolism of the ultimate enlightenment from the “illuminated” ones. This may be a reference to the “Great Work” of the “Black Sun”; alchemical terms utilized by Tyco Brahe (an alchemist who’s name also appears in this lyric video on this screenshot)

Make note of the Pythagoras imagery- he was instrumental in influencing Plato and the “Neo-Platonism” movement which ties into much deeper conversation on philosophy and the occult

Here are the lyrics we’ll be exploring:

Every time I stare into the sun
Trying to find a reason to go on
All I ever get is burned and blind,
Until the sky bleeds the pouring rain

When you came along the time was right
Pulled me like an apple red and ripe
Wasn’t very long you took a bite
And did me wrong, and it serves me right

And I nearly forgot my broken heart
It’s taking me miles away,
From the memory of how we broke apart
Here we go round again, again

Every little key unlocks the door,
Every little secret has a lie
Trying to take a picture of the sun
It won’t help you to see the light
Every little word upon your lips
Makes a little cut where blood pours out
Every little drop of blood a kiss that I won’t miss
Not for anything

While we can assume this song is about a relationship; we could also suggest this is another narrative and continuation of Cornell’s Black Hole Sun. He tries to “stare into the sun” which is a reference to the Illuminati esoteric ideas of a Luciferian source of enlightenment but he only “gets burned” (symbolized on the Audioslave cover with the flame).

Every time I stare into the sun
Trying to find a reason to go on
All I ever get is burned and blind,

Next, he references the serpent coming by and taking a bite of him like a red apple- obviously a reference to the Garden of Eden and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil from which the serpent promised man could become like God.

When you came along the time was right
Pulled me like an apple red and ripe
Wasn’t very long you took a bite
And did me wrong, and it serves me right

He makes reference to the secrets of this inner group and the fact that they’re are lying to him about the source of true light (meaning they worship Lucifer and he doesn’t subscribe to that):

Every little key unlocks the door,
Every little secret has a lie
Trying to take a picture of the sun
It won’t help you to see the light

Finally, he may even be talking about the theories of Illuminati blood sacrifices when he mentions he won’t miss the spilling of blood:

Every little drop of blood a kiss that I won’t miss
Not for anything

Or perhaps I’m looking far too deep into this- you’ll have to be the judge of this.

To me it seems that Cornell was an enlightened man who demonstrated that through his music. Even if you don’t agree with his religious beliefs, it appears that he was aware of the dangers of the “Illuminati” and the esoteric belief systems they subscribe to.

An interview with Kerrang! revealed something else worth making note of:

“We’re in this weird age where there’s more and more immediate distraction and we’re all getting used to it,” explains Chris. “The distraction is just absurd – watching a YouTube video of a guy falling off a skateboard, this kind of crap! Our eyes are just sort of buried into our smart phones now, so I think we’re going through a period of getting further and further away from recognising what we have, which is this crazy planet full of amazing things.”

Cornell knew the magic, power, and lure of technology and the entire music industry. Even though he may have suffered from severe depression and sadly took his own life, there remains possibility that he would’ve continued to reveal more truth to the masses.

Would the “Illuminati” have taken him out specifically for that? I believe so. In this particular instance I don’t see any significant sacrifice dates that would line up with it, so it’s most likely that he was a victim of his own depression, which is a tragic loss.

May he find peace wherever his soul resides now.

R.I.P. Chris Cornell

**UPDATE** To add more complexity into this situation, it appears that Chris Cornell was a Greek Orthodox Christian. Like most forms of Christianity, they do not approve of suicide (not that depression couldn’t overcome that); but his wife stated that he was not depressed. TMZ reported it as follows:

Sources who spoke with Chris’ wife Thursday morning tell TMZ, Vicky Cornell spoke with her husband during soundcheck before he took the stage in Detroit and after Wednesday night’s show. According to our sources, Vicky says Chris was NOT in any way, shape or form in a suicidal state. She doubled down and said there were no signs he was at all depressed.

So it seems that his subscription to the Orthodox Christian faith only further adds to the idea that he was a man trying to reveal the truth of the music industry. It also adds curiosity as to whether there was foul play involved.

  1. Interesting, I’d have to agree. I thought he was trying to tell us what he knew, and to please wake up, look and listen. People will often cite Black Hole Sun and say he is promoting the occult, and that is just not the way it come across, especially when looking at his other songs (in that album and in his solo work to follow).

I had the impression that at the time of the album Superunknown – he was sort of in a quandary, rejecting what was around him, but not knowing what to go to. Then years later, I saw his solo work and it sounded very much like he had embraced his wife’s Christianity. I realise the lyrics can be interpreted to have quite opposite meanings, but d/k, that’s the ‘feeling’ it gave off.

Read they covered ‘In my time of dying’ by Led Zeppelin as the finale song – Yikes! I know that song well, too well. The fact that he was actually performing again with Soundgarden, I find that strange if he really had moved on, he would choose to do this. Reunion always screams ‘in debt’ (and not for money). I think something foul was going on alright, and he knew it. I think he was again telling us.

  2. Oh, and referring to the song ‘In my time of Dying’ it’s not the lyrics so much, it’s the actual music. Not one you can just read the lyrics and have an understanding of how powerful that piece is.

    • I’ve been reading your articles for awhile; although I usually agree with your views, I can’t on this one.

      Hopefully this comment wont disappear.

You admit your motivation is supply and demand. This makes me question your motive?

Anyone can adjust lyrics and photos as they see fit.

      • Hey I agree, but I went to the last Tour and Chris wore a shirt with a illuminatti symbol so obvious and there was the same symbols on stage behind him flashing the whole time. It was weird and I am not into this stuff at all. When I read he died, I immediately thought of this. Caused me to dig for the symbol. You never know …

        • Thanks for the reply 🙂

Issac & others need to dig into the *Suicide* of Chris Cornell, not the album artwork, background symbols, clothing, etc. — of which he had nothing to do with in later years.

Fans know Chris was always expressive and transparent with his highs and lows.

His wife is a publicist blaming ativan for his suicide…
          His bodyguard doesn’t have a logical story…

  3. If it helps… There is a wicka holiday on 18th. A kind of goddess evoking freedom of sorcery. Also, on pagan Rome there was a ritual starting on 17th, the priests ended the first day of ceremony in the bathroom. The festivity ends on 20th.

    • I have followed Cornell his whole career and he continually sings about Christian themes. A great example is “live to rise”..”like the sun(son) we will live to rise, like the son we live and die and ignite again” he’s talking about the death and reserection of Christ. Other songs ” light my way”, “show me how to live”. I could go on and on. He wishes Jesus a happy birthday on Christmas day on his Facebook page. He’s had both his Children baptized Greek Orthodox, this man is not a devil worshipper, he is an enemy of the devil and he was taken out

  4. I was a big fan of Soundgarden and i would be interested to see what you think of these songs: Beyond The Wheel, 667, Nazi Driver, Get On The Snake, 4th Of July, Limo Wreck and Like Suicide. I would suggest to look especially at Mind Riot in terms of occultism/sacrifice, Tighter & Tighter in term of suicide (fantasy) and at New Damage where the term new world order is mentioned. I think in terms of the new order Limo Wreck and New Damege are connected, where the term wreck is also mentioned.

  5. I just want to say thank you for the article on Cris Cornell you have posted! These can be also interesting: the soundtracts he made to mainstream films, you can see on IMDB: Live To Rise for Man of Steel, Seasons for Avengers, You Know My Name for Casino Royale, and Til The Sun Comes Back Around for the film 13 Hours. I think the 3. and 4. songs are worth to be looked at. (Ps: i am only familiar with the old Soundgarden, not with other bands he had, or the renewed Soundgarden).

  6. Black Hole Sun is the spoon once you’ve cooked the heroin. But never heard that theory.
Watch the video for Nearly Forgot and you will see the satanist forshadowing Andy is death. Look at Wikipedia and find out the video was released on September 11.

  10. Almost 60% of American adults take a prescription, that’s a CRAZY figure. I refuse, I will find a natural ALT and/or change in lifestyle. it’s very risky, as in YOUR LIFE, to trust Big Pharma and even most doctors these days. It’$ all about one thing unfortunately – gue$$?!

    RIP, Chris!

  11. “And I learned that I was a liar Just like you”

Directed straight to the Illuminati or to Lucifer(now Satan the bloodthirsty Devil) himself? I’m thinking the latter, the Illuminati are irrelevant in the greater scheme of things.

This reminds me of many others prior, but I’ll single out someone quite recent, this is the day Katy Perry tried to live. She admittedly sold her soul for fame and higher status in this current system and went down the sewers to search for a false path to a so-called “enlightened” higher consciousness right? an “eye witness” to the eventual dead end when she will realize she was a liar just like the person she sold her soul to.

“The Day I Tried To Live”

I woke the same as any other day
Except a voice was in my head
It said seize the day, pull the trigger, drop the blade
    And watch the rolling heads

The day I tried to live
    I stole a thousand beggar’s change
And gave it to the rich
The day I tried to win
I dangled from the power lines
    And let the martyrs stretch
    Singing

    One more time around
    Might do it
    One more time around
    Might make it
    One more time around
    Might do it
    One more time around
The day I tried to live

    Words you say never seem
To live up to the ones
    Inside your head
    The lives we make
Never seem to ever get us anywhere
    But dead

The day I tried to live
I wallowed in the blood and mud with
    All the other pigs

I woke the same as any other day you know
I should have stayed in bed

The day I tried to live
I wallowed in the blood and mud with
    All the other pigs

And I learned that I was a liar
    Just like you

  12. As someone who has suicidal thoughts and attempted it and has been in the “loony bin” because of it, I can say that committing suicide is very difficult. It takes A LOT of balls to do that. And I fully respect the decision of suicides. My aunt killed herself. I don’t want to know the reason and I don’t judge her for it. Suicide is very personal. If someone is determined to kill themselves, they will do it. Period.

That being said, I believe fully that Chris was murdered. As soon as I heard about it, I’m like “f*** they got him!” It’s just how they operate. The Illuminati/Cabal just doesn’t kill the average Joe unless its a mass killing aka 9/11. You actually have to be a direct threat to them. Like if a nation wanted to start using substance based currencies instead of debt based **cough cough** Libya **cough** Iraq….then the Illuminati’s war machine which is the United States Military just takes you out.

I’ve learned that the trick to dealing with the reality of the Illuminati is to recognize they may own you while physically alive (a debt slave), but they can never own your soul unless you grant them permission. I’m fully aware of their existence, and that alone is enough to frighten them.

Lol, what the Illuminati should be afraid of besides the people they control, are THEIR OWN MASTERS. In the end, the STS/negative path always gets abandoned.

At least in my reality, full disclosure about this group will be brought forth. No more fiat debt currency, no more free energy suppression. Our Garden of Eden is their Hell. We only have to deal with this crap for just a little bit longer…..at least I do.

  13. As always. Thank you for opening the world’s eyes to looking at all things with an open mind. You capture the purpose of sharing. The day will come when man will come to grips with what our world is really like, and why we are here. Until then we can only do our part and have conversations about things we may not fully understand. It is well appreciated the work that you do. Keep it up!!

  14. Isaac, I don’t know if this helps at all, but you gotta see this. It’s a article from back in January basically letting us know something bad was going to happen to Cornell. I didn’t do too much research into who wrote it or why someone it. But the date is from January of this year. Worth a read at least.

When I think of Detroit, I think of the recent growth of Satanism there and that big, creepy Baphomet statue that they recently erected.
